Here are some things to keep in mind when choosing your new flashlight:
  • How will you use your light? - Are you looking for a flashlight to put on a keychain? It will be with you all the time. Or for camping? A flashlight for camping can be larger. Or, if you are looking for an emergency light for your home, you need to have dependability and brightness.

  • Purpose - For a hurricane or flood, you need to have a weatherproof light. For a tornado or earthquake, you’ll need one that can be dropped or bumped. The new LED lights, with no filament to break, can stand up to rough use.

  • Size - If you’ll be storing your light in the glove compartment of your car or in your 72 hour emergency kit, you’ll want to have a small light. If you are going to place it in your Safe Room, it can be larger.

  • Ease of Operation - Do you need an on/off button or does a light that twists to go on appeal to you? Who will be using it, and which kind of light is easiest for them to use?
