Stomach Virus or Intestinal Flu
A stomach virus, also known as intestinal flu, is often confused with seasonal flu. Stomach flu symptoms can be very similar to seasonal flu symptoms, and it is important that you know the difference.
There are many different kinds of intestinal flu, but the most common, viral gastroenteritis, is often the culprit that makes you sick.Most often, when you have this illness, your main symptoms will be vomiting and diarrhea. While these symptoms are certainly uncomfortable, your main concern is to stay hydrated—or to make sure that you, or the sick person, does not become dehydrated.

While it is not much fun to be sick with a stomach flu, most of the time the symptoms go away within 24 to 48 hours. If you find that you are vomiting for more than 24 hours, your fever goes over 102 degrees F or you have not peed for more than 8 hours, you do need to see a doctor.
