The H1N1 vaccine is very new, and there is no guarantee that the current vaccine is safe or that the current vaccine for swine flu will protect you from the swine flu virus if it changes its genetic characteristics--or if it will protect you from any flu virus, at all!

There are many questions that we must answer for ourselves – before making a decision about whether to allow our family members to be vaccinated.

Here are some things to consider:

  • How do vaccines work? What are they supposed to do and how do they protect you from disease? Are they always effective?

  • What are the possible dangers of vaccines ?

  • What flu shot ingredients are being used in the swine flu vaccines? Are the ingredients being used proven to be safe? Is there any evidence that they can be harmful?

  • Did you know that the US government has provided legal immunity for vaccine manufacturers? What does that mean for you?

  • What about flu vaccine deaths? 60 Minutes did a special in 1979, on the flu vaccine deaths that occurred in 1976 after people received the swine flu vaccination for the “pandemic of 1976”--that never really happened.

  • What is guillan barre syndrome ? What are the symptoms of guillain barre and how is it linked to the 1976 swine flu vaccine?

  • What about autism and vaccines ? Which vaccines are causing autism?

  • Is your country planning to have mandatory vaccination for everyone? What do health care professionals think about this? What is the official WHO position?

  • What if you have a forced vaccination ? Do you know what to do in order to minimize the possible negative consequences?

Of course you plan to do whatever is best for you family. In doing so, you will need to consider all of the points above – and then make a decision about whether you will choose to get vaccine for children and others in your family vaccinated with the pandemic flu vaccine.

There is no right or wrong answer for everyone. You will have to make the decision for yourself – based on the best information that you have.
